Our Inspection Process

 

Wind Mitigation Inspections were developed to lower premiums and educate the policyholder on how to receive credits if the home has deficiencies and how to grade your home and satisfy the insurance industry standards. During a Wind Mitigation Inspection, we report on the key features that decrease the amount of damage your home may receive during a hurricane or strong windstorm. These features may include concrete block construction, a hip roof, single or double roof straps, a secondary water resistance barrier, shutters and opening protection.

 

These are the standard factors that help qualify a home for Wind Mitigation Certification.

What to expect on the day of inspection:

The inspector will photograph all elevations of your home, including windows, doors and other openings around the outside of the house. They will also photograph any hurricane protection you use for those openings listed above. Access to the attic or crawl space is required to photograph the nailing pattern and system of the roof. Last will be paperwork. If you have any new doors including a garage door, high impact windows, accordion shutters or a newer roof permit card, please have the paperwork available.
